How To Teach Preschoolers To Master Rhyme and Rhythm
Teaching rhyme and rhythm is one of the best ways to inculcate basic phonemic awareness skills in your preschoolers. Learning rhyme not only helps your toddler to identify and form new rhyming words, it also helps him isolate sounds in the words and understand how different sounds frame the words. This understanding is important as it helps your kid a lot when he learns to write. So if you are planning to teach your kindergartener rhymes and looking for some of the best sources and tips for the same, look no further. Here, we list some easy yet effective tips to help you teach your little one rhyme and rhythm. Read on to discover all about it.
3 Important Stages Of Learning And Mastering Rhymes And Rhythms
Your preschooler can’t just jump to reciting rhymes. A toddler goes through these three stages that help him learn and master simplest to hardest rhymes. Those three crucial stages include:
1. Listening to rhyme
Your toddler listens to the rhyme repeatedly.
2. Identifying the rhyme
Your preschooler begins to recognize two similar sounding words i.e. rhyming words.
3. Producing the rhyme
Your kid thinks and comes up with rhyming words.
5 Helpful Tips To Teach Your Preschooler To Master Rhyme And Rhythm
1. Recite Rhymes Frequently
Repetition is the key to teach rhymes to your toddler. Recite some interesting rhymes and rhyming songs to your preschooler, and he will find them fun to learn. Sit in the front of your preschooler, recite a nursery rhyme, act some words of the rhyme, clap your hands, and encourage your kid to recite the rhyme after you. Make the recitation of the rhymes part of your kid’s regular learning and it will help develop fundamental phonological awareness skill in your kindergartner.
2. Play Nursery Rhymes On A Music Player
Record some fun nursery rhymes and play them on a music player when you and your preschooler are traveling via car and while your toddler is playing around in the house. Repeated listening to a played rhyme and rhythm will motivate your toddler to recite the rhyme on his own.
3. Let Your Kid Find Rhyming Words
Once your preschooler gets well-acquainted with a nursery rhyme after listening to it plenty of times, recite it by pausing at rhyming words. Encourage your kindergartner to come up with the rhyming word as you pause.
4. Read Out Rhyming Picture Books
Picture books are a great attraction for preschoolers. So, gift your kindergartner a rhyming picture book and read out rhyming words and rhyming songs from the book over and over again. Soon, your toddler will learn words that rhyme with one another and recite simple rhymes.
5. Make A Rhyming Chain
Form a group of six to seven preschoolers and make them sit in a circle. Provide a word to the first child and other kids in the circle should come up with a word, which rhymes with the first word, one-by-one in turn. For instance, if you provide the word ‘Bat’ to a child in the circle, the kid to his right should come up with word ‘Hat’, and kid next to him should say ‘Cat’, and so on in a circular order. When the preschoolers run out of rhyming words or say an improper word, the chain is broken. You can then start a new round.
Similarly, preschoolers can recite rhyming songs in rhythm that they have learnt. First kid should recite the first line of the rhyming song; and the next child should recite the next line. Likewise, complete the rhyming poetry in a rhythm. If a kid misses a line or recites an incorrect line, the rhyming chain is broken. Read more

Motherhood : A Priceless Gift
This blog is about my journey of motherhood. It talks about my transformation from a carefree girl to a hands on mommy. It captures all the beautiful memories my little one has given me in the span of two years and also how I have evolved as a person. With this blog I want to help all the new mommies out there who have just began their beautiful phase of motherhood.
My journey of motherhood began from the day I came to know I have conceived and now when my daughter is turning two, I look back and cherish all the lovely memories. I still remember the day I came to know about my pregnancy, it was an altogether different feeling. The whole idea of a new life nurturing in my womb brought tears of happiness in my eyes.
Visits to the hospital for regular checkups were both exciting and scary for me at the same time. Excitement to hear the heartbeat of my little one and fear whether the baby is meeting all the developmental milestones or not. Both me and my doctor were trying for a normal delivery but I had to undergo an emergency c-sec as my daughter had passed meconium. The moment I held my daughter for the first time, I felt truly amazing and this feeling cannot be penned in words.
I had hired a maid to help me but unfortunately she did not turn up. I was really scared of managing the baby all by myself as everything was so new for me but trust me whatever God does is for our good. Taking care of all her needs right from feeding her to giving her a massage to bathing her made me day by day a confident mommy. I have always been a carefree girl but after entering into this beautiful phase of my life, I was transformed into a responsible hands on mommy. My mother would often say she still can't believe I am the same girl who just went with the flow but now is so particular about each and everything regaridng my little one.
To all those new moms out there, just go with the flow my dear and enjoy each and every moment of this amazing journey because this time will not come back. Do what you feel what is right for your child. Follow your heat and don't worry about people judging you. I have been through this phase and I know how much pressure a new mom has to face. Just focus on your baby and you will be all set. Everyday you will learn something new from your little one. One thing I learnt from my daughter is patience. I have read about the concept of gentle parenting online and how many parents are following this concept across the globe. In a span of two years, one thing I have realised as a mom that I have to work at the same pace as my little one and that too with lot of patience. There are times when I completely lose my cool but then again I start fresh.
No matter how much my baby troubles me throughout the day, at night when she cuddles me with her warm hugs and showers her love on me; I feel on top of the world and truly Blessed. Motherhood is indeed a priceless gift.

How to Ensure Your Child Gets Adequate Nutrition When in Day Care
Nutrition is a crucial aspect of development and is necessary for maintaining good health and physical & mental development. Ensure that there is no compromise!
As more and more women join the workforce, moms around the world are running around in an effort to manage work and home, all the while ensuring their little one gets the best parenting and care. Everything ranging from food & nutrition, hygiene and discipline needs to be taken care of. While hygiene and discipline can be managed with the help of a day care facility with the progress easy to track, food and nutrition are tough to follow. In such a scenario, how should a mom ensure that her child is getting adequate nutrition in day care?
We list a few ways which might help:
Reviews and Certification
First things first, check the chosen day care of its reputation and certification by a genuine authority. These two aspects will rest you assure of the respect and name that the day care has. An ideal day care should have a 5-star rating only if the nutritional and hygiene aspect is well taken care. Do not compromise on the quality of the day care. When it comes to your child, nothing should be left alone.
Make Nutrition a Top Priority
Keep nutrition a top priority when you choose a day care. Ask for the diet routines from the management. These routines are extremely crucial as you can analyze the complete nutrition cycle for your baby. Look for the cereals and nutrition fruits in the diet. Also, check if there is an adequate amount of fat and carbs. All of it is important as you will not be physically present to monitor the same.
Check Practices
Have a feel around the safe practices that are followed around the day care. Especially the hygiene aspect. What procedures are followed while cooking food All these will impact to a great extent on the quality of nutrition served to your baby. Mishandling food served to your child can adulterate the foods nutritional quality.
Ask What You Need
If you are in need of a thing, you will ask for it! The same principle is applied here in making sure your child gets the right food. Ask for the special diet and service and judge if it will suit your kid. Your child’s needs are not the same as everyone else’s and you need to ensure they are met at all times.
Taking Part
Be involved with the day care facility at a deeper level to ensure the best for your child. Getting involved and meeting them frequently will build a confidence from both the sides- an added benefit for your little one.
Day care centers are external agencies which are committed to your child to a certain extent and are obliged to ensure their healthy development. However, your little one can, at times, get lost among other children. So, the onus is upon you to make sure that child gets adequate nutrition at his daycare. Read more

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Babies start to stand between the age of 9 months to thirteen months. Please wait for sometime before consulting a doctor. Please give semi solid food items like banana and mashed potatoes and mashed apples to the baby. Also give suji kheer and daal paani to the baby. Continue giving formula milk to the baby. You can also give mashed idli to the baby. Masaage baby legs with BabyHug coconut oil.
Thanks and take care
