7 Things You Should Do At Home To Make Your Baby's Muscles Strong and Healthy!
Your baby looks so gentle and delicate as he takes a nap, a little smile on his face. Soon, he will be up and about, demanding food, playing with you, and stretching his arms and legs. Babies are very fond of moving about as soon as they learn they can control their limbs. But very often, babies develop stiffness in their muscles after sleeping or being physically active. Their muscles are still developing and are not very strong. But what can you do about this? Surely, such a small baby cannot exercise, so is there any other way to make his muscles stronger?
The motor muscles of your baby start developing at an early age. This is the development that builds the physical strength of your baby. As parents, we strive to do everything in our power to make our babies stronger. This is why we give them a massage to enhance their blood circulation, make sure they are well-fed, and help them get relaxed by sleeping enough. But apart from this, there are some other things we need to do to promote their muscular growth and ensure that their muscles are well stretched and growing.
Here are the seven things you should start doing at home every day to help raise a strong little human being, with power in the muscles!
1. Give Your Baby Some 'Tummy Time'
This is one of the most common recommendations given to new moms, and yet also the most effective. What is tummy time and how can you give your baby this? Well, you simply have to lay your infant on his or her stomach, while being supervised, of course. This will help the muscles of your baby’s head, neck and shoulder get enough exercise. If your baby is always on his back, or sleeps in a bed that is not suitable for infants, he might develop a flat spot on his head. Try and use a baby crib or cot that has a firm base to provide adequate support to his back muscles. And yes, make sure your child gets tummy time both with you and Daddy every day! Here are some excellent ideas you can use to give your baby tummy time and also have fun doing it.
2. Elevate The Head of Your Baby
For your baby's head muscles tp grow properly, he needs some elevation of the head region every day. You can do this by positioning your baby in a vertical position close to your shoulder. In this pose, the baby is able to elevate his head for a small period of time. Goes without saying, it is of extreme importance to provide support to the baby while doing so. You should hold up the baby along his back to avoid a backward thrust.
3. Practise Finger Towing
This activity focuses on the muscles of the hand and the palm. Here's what you need to do: Make your baby lie down on the bed with his back on the bed. Then put two fingers in front of him. When he holds your fingers, try to move them away gently. The more you try to move away your fingers the more he will try to hold it tightly! This a good exercise for increasing eye and hand muscle co-ordination as well.
4. Feed Your Baby These Foods for Stronger Muscles
If you have introduced solids or semi-solids to your baby, you should start incorporating in his diet some foods that help resolve low muscle tone. Some children naturally have a low muscle tone and this can hinder their motor development. You can fix this by introducing foods rich in protein, Vitamin C and D, and calcium. Some good options are: milk, broccoli, leafy veggies and eggs.
5. Do the 'Bicycle Exercise'
This one is not just benficial for muscular strength, it is also known to keep baby's tummy happy! You can do this exercise by laying baby on his back and holding his ankles gently. Slowly move his legs in a circular motion, like he is pedalling his bicycle. After a couple of rounds, stop, clap and praise your baby. Make sure you guys go riding this bicycle every day; it can be a whole lot of fun!
6. Tug Your Baby Up in a Sitting Position
When your baby starts learning to roll over, you know he will soon be sitting, standing and walking too! But for this, the muscles of his arms and back need to become strong. You can do this by just holding the forearms of your baby and tugging him up gradually to a sitting position. Make sure you maintain his back upright. You can use a comfortable and baby-safe pillow at this time. Then, gradually put your baby back on the ground. You can do this three to four times at one stretch. It is great for making his muscles for flexible as he slowly learns to sit up and then stand.
7. Help Your Baby With the Toe to Ear Movement
Unless your baby learns to coordinate his motor movements, his muscular growth may be slow. You can teach him to get tip to toe balance by doing this: Place the baby on his back and keep his leg in an erect position. Gently lift the right big toe towards the left ear of the baby and then bring it back to its original position. Then bring the left toe to the right ear. Repeat this exercise about four times in one go and then give your baby a break. You'll start noticing the results soon.
Just as proper nutrition and exercise help an adult body, similarly, nutrition and exercise helps build strong muscles and enhance motor development in infants as well. These activities also give you some great quality time with your baby, helping you bond even more.
So, if your little one's limbs are getting stiff after a long snooze, or seem a little weak, you now know just what to do to help your baby stretch and relax! Read more

My Myth: Me and Depression- No Way, I Am Such a Positive Person!
We had been planning to start our family for a few months, and after many negatives (urine pregnancy tests) I was overwhelmed to find a positive one. I couldn’t believe my eyes so did another test, and it was positive too. It was the best day for me.
Then came the hard part. Morning sickness, no, it was 24-hour sickness and vomiting. They said it should go away after the first trimester, but it was my companion in all the nine months. In the later months, it was accompanied by a migraine which could only be relieved by vomiting. From being a happy, friendly and fun loving woman, I stopped my job and preferred staying at home all day. Even car rides made me vomit. Not only, did I not like going out but I did not like people coming home to meet
me too. I wanted to stay alone. And everyone said why you are depressed; it was a planned pregnancy. Yes, I wanted it. But my dear family and friends, though it was very much what I wanted and I was happy to conceive I was still under pregnancy depression. It is then I realised that depression is not with what you have and what desires are fulfilled, but it is to do with hormones in the body. The day I delivered my baby, I was back to my old self with a bang. Thankfully postpartum depression did not get to me but trust me that is very common too. I openly discuss with family and friends as when I was in distress and realised that many of my friends were in the same phase but never disclosed to anyone as they knew they would not
be understood. The most common response is that " oh! She has everything in life then why is she depressed. We are struggling but still happy."
We need to understand depression is not about having things in life. It is a medical disorder, and it needs family and friends support and doctors help. I am a doctor, but it took my depression to realise this. Be supportive friends.

Coping with "Pregnancy and Positivity" in this Pandemic!
Happy mind, Healthy mind.
Pregnancy comes with it's own set of happiness, excitement and hopes. I can't deny pregnancy comes with its own stress, anxiety and big responsibilities too.
But it's little, or should I say very different this time around.
Whether you are pregnant with the 1st baby or 2nd, these times around a pandemic are double the anxiety, stress and flooding the pregnant mamas' with all kind of thoughts! We surely can't change the Covid scenario. This is a real reason for concern, specifically for the ones expecting their child to arrive among this pandemic.
It's a very natural thing to feel so. Don't let anyone say you otherwise- things like- "You think a lot".."You are not the only one pregnant".."Why are you so negative?"
and the most common one- "You will harm the baby with your thoughts"
Well..you like it or not..the last statement you hear is true! Stress does affect your baby and yourself too. We don't want that. RIGHT?
Going through the same situation as many mumma-to-be, I have jotted down my own experience in coping up with the stress and remain positive.
Smile 😊 - As simple it may sound my dear ladies, the small curve on your lips can do wonders. This is the first thing I prefer in the morning. Rub my tummy with a smile and a "good morning baby" and next smile to yourself in the mirror. This helps to start the day on a positive note😇
Health routine 🧉- I created a habit of eating soaked almonds and black raisins every morning as soon as I brush my teeth! Almonds and raisins are healthy..we all know that, but above everything this habit makes me feel I have started my day by providing health to my little one ☺
Read, Read, Read 📖- I am not very keen about reading otherwise. But once I started reading from a few weeks, I figured out that it did not let multiple thoughts cross my mind! I recommend atleast some spiritual reading everyday. You can also listen someone else read it out for you. Reading is the most engaging activity you can do.
Bond with womb talk👼- We want someone to listen to us. How we feel about the new phase.. Clearly the little baby inside us is the best listener. Talk about your feelings of love and happiness to your baby. Make sure you keep your palm on the tummy, because they may respond with kicks and moves🥰
Talk to your Gynac - The pandemic is here to stay for sometime now. So in your next visit speak to the Doctor about your concerns. I spoke to mine over a call. She completely understood my concern and specified the do's and don'ts. It does make a huge difference when a professional speaks to you.
Pamper yourself with "Me time"🤰- I enjoy sitting in the balcony by myself, taking care of my skin or even just relaxing for a bit. That's a must that I need some time out for myself. It might be different for you. Do something you like. It's the best stress buster.
Watch something funny🤹♀️- I love watching stand up shows. You can watch a series or videos you find hilarious and giggle out that stress mumma-to-be!
This will surely not change the complete scenario going on in the world outside the home. But worrying will neither change it too. So, keep all the safety measures in mind and do follow them. We are going to look back to this challenging time and narrate it to just let our kids know how strong their Mom is! Being healthy mentally is our ultimate goal to raise healthy and wonderful new generation for this world. Stay Home. Stay Safe. Above all, Stay Happy ❤ Read more

A. The duration of implantation cramping varies from person to person but doesn't last longer than a few days. Some people experience a few minor twinges over a few hours or the course of a day. On the other end of the spectrum, some experience intermittent cramping that comes and goes over one to three days.

A. No it is a very common thing with women to be seen that they are diabetic or they have thyroid during the time of pregnancy but that does not mean your child is also going to have the same problem as these things are not contagious you are not going to pass it on to your child during pregnancy so don’t worry about it

Q. New born baby is not poop more than 1 week? How to recover that
Dr Vandan H Kumar

A. Stool pattern of small children changes from time to time.
It can be more than 7 times per day also and sometimes the child will not pass stool for 10 days also.
The most important thing is the consistency of the stool and if it is Semi solid to solid or semi liquid then there is no need to worry about the frequency axs well as colour as well as the smell of the stool
Also straining and crying while passing urine and stool is very normal.
the crying of the child is due to colic pain and not due to constipationx
