Can You Give Your Baby Raw Milk?
Raw milk is not pasteurized or heated to a specific temperature to kill harmful germs that may be present in it. Pasteurization is the best way to ensure that milk is safe for babies to drink. You should avoid giving raw milk to babies as it could be harmful for your child.
What is Raw Milk?
Unpasteurized milk is raw milk, as the fluid that comes out of the body of an animal needs to be treated before giving it to babies. Though it is said that the process of sterilization destroys the key elements and robs the milk of its nutrients, it is safe to drink only pasteurized milk.
Nutritional Value of Raw Milk
The composition of milk varies based on the breed, the species, the stage of lactation, and the animal’s food. Its nutritional value is very high, which can be seen in the table given below.

What Are the Benefits of Raw Milk for Babies?
Raw milk is deemed to be helpful in many health conditions as it has a wealth of nutrients.
Raw milk helps in maintaining skin health and removes allergies.
It boosts immunity and helps in losing weight.
It gives neurological support and aids digestive issues.
What Are the Risks Associated with Drinking Raw Milk for Babies?
As much as it has benefits, the risks of drinking raw milk outweigh its pros any day.
Raw milk contains bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella, and E.coli, which are potentially dangerous bacteria and can adversely affect young children with a weak immune system.
Sometimes, outbreaks occur due to consumption of raw milk.
It can lead to health risks by causing serious foodborne illness.
Can You Make Homemade Formula Using Raw milk?
Raw milk formula for infants is required when moms of newborn babies aren’t able to produce enough breastmilk to satiate the baby’s demands. A nutrient-dense formula can be made using unpasteurized milk and other ingredients such as lactose, homemade whey, healthy oils, and gelatin. If you want a variation, then goat milk is the next option. Is goat milk safe for babies? It is rich in fat but lacks folate, and is low in Vitamin B12, which are both essential for infants. But as much as it is possible to make formula, it is definitely not advisable as it could pose dangerous side-effects to the baby.
Feeding raw milk to babies is a major concern for parents. Pasteurized milk is safest to use for babies. Raw milk harbours bacteria which is harmful to infants. Ensure that the milk fed to your baby is procured from healthy cows and has been stored and handled carefully.

World Animal Day - Why and How to Celebrate
Animals are an integral part of our ecosystem. Without them, our survival would be at stake. In order to explain how important animals are, World Animal Day is celebrated each year on a global scale. The objective is to educate people about animal welfare and other aspects that involve protecting and nurturing various animal species. Here's how should you can celebrate this special day!
Why Is World Animal Day Celebrated?
International Animal Day is celebrated every year to spread awareness about the status of animals and improve their welfare standards.
History of World Animal Day
This remarkable day was first observed in 1925 under the guidance of a German writer, Heinrich Zimmermann. Though the celebrations were initially planned for the 4th October, due to certain constraints, it was celebrated on 24th March 1925. The celebrations were initiated in Germany and 5000 people participated in it. Slowly, the movement spread to Switzerland, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic and Slovakia), and Austria. In an international conference held in Florence, Italy in 1931, 4th October was declared as World Animal Day. Over the years, this day has gained popularity, and now, many events are organised for sensitising people towards the protection of animals.
How Is International Animal Day Celebrated Around the World?
With every year, there is a phenomenal increase in the events that are organised to commemorate this day. This is how International Animal Day is celebrated around the world:
1. India
In India, many forums organise events to spread awareness. Here are some events that take place:
Animal welfare organisations such as Blue Cross conduct events related to the welfare of animals.
Events are conducted on school, college and university levels to educate the youth about animal welfare.
Print, audio and visual media help in reaching out to all strata of society.
2. Lebanon
According to a special resolution passed by the Lebanese government, the state administration organises World Animal Day celebrations every year. Various events that focus on animal issues are held across the country.
3. Columbia
World Animal Day has been celebrated in Columbia since 2008. Many animal lovers actively participate in the events to express their concern and love towards animals. Enthusiasts and activists volunteer to gain the attention of the Colombian government by bringing animal issues to the forefront.
4. Nepal
The government plays an important role in spreading awareness and educating people regarding the ethical treatment of animals. The government also supports various ethical groups that work towards making animals' lives more comfortable.
5. Egypt
The Society for Protection of Animal Rights (SPARE) has always been one of the main organisations to celebrate World Animal Day. SPARE has managed to reduce the number of animals used as guinea pigs and provided other alternatives. It has also helped to make amends to the Egyptian constitution to include animal rights.
Now, there are more than 100 nations that actively participate in protecting animal rights. This integrated approach helps to spread the message and encourages activists to continue putting in their best efforts.
Events Organised on World Animal Day
These events are held on World Animal Day in most parts of the world:
Pet adoption
Opening of animal shelters
Workshops and conferences
Animal blessing services
Gala balls, concerts, shows and other fundraising events
Animal shelter open day
Marches or protests concerning the welfare of animals
TV and radio interviews
Rabies vaccination drives and awareness seminars
Veterinary treatment camps
Spay and neuter marathons
School and college events
How Can You Celebrate International Animal Day?
Here are some ways you can celebrate International Animal Day:
1. Start a Campaign
Many non-profit organisations support individuals or small groups who wish to undertake efforts for animal welfare. You can collaborate with such organisations and actively participate to ensure the welfare and protection of animals.
2. Take Part in Local Events
You can also check the local publications or check with the animal support group in your locality or city for the World Animal Day activities.
3. Volunteer
Volunteer with an animal shelter or animal welfare organisations in your city. You can also do volunteer work on the days you're free.
4. Social Media
If you're unable to take part in the events or campaigns in your city, you can always do your bit by starting an online campaign. The power of social media in today's world is tremendous. You can easily reach and educate people about animal protection and welfare in different corners of the globe.
5. Donate
Donating money for a noble cause is one of the best things that you can do. Various animal welfare organisations work on donations, in cash and kind, from people. If you lend a helping hand, it goes a long way to help animals. Many organisations work tirelessly in order to save and protect endangered species. Your donations can definitely make a difference to such endeavours.
Tell your little one the significance of World Animal Day and celebrate the day by taking him to an animal shelter or adopting a pet dog or cat!

How Story Time Can Improve Listening Skills in Preschoolers?
There are many ways in which parents can help their children develop different skills. Telling a story for listening skills is one such method. Story-time is not just fun-time for children; it also helps create a bond between child and parent and helps in developing listening skills.
Good listening skills are important for the development of language, social and word skills in children. Listening and reading are two separate skills and both are equally important for overall literacy skills. Listening doesn’t just mean understanding sound but also auditory perceptions, which essentially means processing what has been heard. Storytelling is an important activity that can help children build excellent listening skills.
4 Tips for Developing Listening Skills in Children
1. Remember The Importance of Storytelling!
It’s important to prepare for your storytelling session. Don’t consider it to be just a bedtime routine; it’s much more than that. Reading to your child is like introducing significant literacy concepts. It’s a way of telling him that words can give information, bring alive new situations, and bring new meaning to lives. With each story, you’re empowering your child to imagine new areas that he has not yet explored. Children listening to a story also have scope for better understanding of language and wider vocabulary.
2. Set A Reading Routine
You must set aside some time every day to read with your child, regardless of his age. It could be a long story or a shorter one, but repeating this routine every day is important. When listening to a story, there are many other things that stimulate learning like your proximity and your voice. You can start storytelling in infancy and keep increasing the duration and complexity of stories as he grows.
3. Choose Good Books
You don’t need to worry about how to teach listening skills to your child if you incorporate storytelling in his daily routine. He’ll automatically look forward to the same and will become interested in listening to stories. You must ensure a good mix of different genres like fantasy, science and biographies– in simplified form, of course. Pick books that are rich in language, have meaningful plots, compelling characters, and engaging illustrations. These are some considerations to keep in mind when choosing books:
Is it worth the reader’s and listener's time?
Does it sound good when read aloud?
Will it appeal to your child?
Will he find it relevant and engaging?
Will it help initiate conversation?
Is the story memorable?
Will he want to hear it read again?
4. Impact of Storytelling
There are many skills that develop with storytelling. It’s not just listening skills. Here are the rest:
Social skills
Language skills
Phonological awareness, understanding words, syllables, and sentences
General knowledge
Logical skills
General problem solving
Storytelling is one of the most fun and engaging activities to improve listening skills in children. And there’s no doubt that using books will help children share their experiences with others and explore their emotions. Sometimes, children identify themselves with the characters in stories, thus making it easier to cope with different situations in their own lives. Read more

Effects of mother's mental health on child's care and it's development.
Experiencing 1st time pregnancy than the 2nd one is a completely different story for a mother.
When it is her first time, she is unaware of thousands of life changing events of which she had never dreamt of....sometimes she juggle with her ill health and baby's care at the same time...or her career and baby's care....or her joint family issues and baby's care...or a combination of all of these.
I am a mother of a 9 month old baby girl...I conceived my baby within 3 months of my marriage, that too with a complication of hypertension and I was being asked to be on a bed rest by my gynecologist... so I came to my maternal home for a proper care and rest....
Now, I had 5 things in my mind during my pregnancy, 1st... I was struggling with my health, 2nd I was concerned for my baby's health, 3rd i got a very little time to know my husband and to be with him after my marriage, 4th my in laws were not supportive
5th i was not having a habit of sitting at home 24hours.... because being in a dental field i used to work for 11 hours, 7 hours in college and 4 hours in clinic.
I became depressed being at home for the whole day....
So at such situation, biggest challenge for a mother is to keep a healthy and happy state of mind, so that she can adapt herself well to nurture her baby properly and not to regret it in future.
My biggest support was ofcourse my mother and my husband... they taught me to adapt myself to a new life which I was about to enter in and to expel all negative thoughts.
I read multiple articles, did yoga, heard bhagwat katha, went for walking...
But what really helped me was when I held my baby in my arms....
I was scared that whether my negative energy had come in my daughter through any sort of bad thoughts, but when she smiles and when she laughs I felt relieved 😌 and tried to never got in that zone again mentally...
Everyday I keep myself busy in my baby, and when she will be old enough to understand things, I know I can surely start my work again with her support... ❤ trust me life is more beautiful now with her... 🥰🥰 Read more

Lock down with the big babies seems next to possible!
While working in the kitchen simultaneously handling the child has always been a tedious task for women and this lockdown, covid everywhere, has only put the worst icing to the cake!Well, to be honest my four year old kid has made me thin again, courtesy no school and his crazy activites. The kids these days come as an updated version, they need changes in their daily lives, they want more and more new things. And it gets really difficult for a woman to handle a child with no cook at home and herself in the kitchen. The first half of the day when you are in the kitchen making breakfast, your child gets up and you have to attend him! You take him to the bathroom, help him brush his teeth because he is still a child who is learning how to clean his parts. But suddenly, you remember there is a pan full of vegetables that still is getting cooked. You run towards your kitchen when your child shouts from behind, ,Mum , I need to poop. You take a deep breathe and return back. This is not just my story but every household where there is no cook and maid. You fix his routine on your own, tries
to keep him busy all the time so that he would not split milk on your free
time! We have been watching a lot many activities for the child to keep them
intact and sit at one place, but what I have experienced is any activity you
choose, you need to give them your time. Be it his school work or any colouring
activities. At least my child needs someone
to check upon him all the time. But at least I still am trying to
give him more activities and more books to scribble, write, colour unnecessary objects.
He watches videos on television because I restrict him to use any phone. I make
him watch Blippi shows, educational videos especially related to animaks and
museums. For cartoons, he watches Peppa Pig in English and yes of course, Chota
Bheem and Mighty Raju are his favourites. I give him shapes to draw and he
loves colouring 3D shapes such as Sphere, Cylinder, Rectangular Prisms and Cone.
The struggle is real for sure! Read more

A. Cetaphil SPF 50 sunscreen lotion is going to be a very good choice for you to use for your skin it’s one of the best things that you can currently use and I’m very certain it is going to be good for your skin options also otherwise if you want you can try consulting a dermatologist for that

A. For yourself I would recommend you Shatavari powder three times in the day to increase your lactation other than that since your child is six months complete you can give Amul Taaza milk to your child that is easier for the childhood digest and flavour is also good even if you want you can add some dry fruit powder saffron or turmeric for flavour change that’s also a good option to try these alternative
