6 Genius Ideas To Teach Kids To Color Within The Lines
Learning to colour within the lines helps in developing the fine motor skills of your child. We help you figure out how to guide your little artist!
Little kids are still developing different skills and will more often than not mess up certain tasks. Your little Picasso will frequently colour out of the lines as he plays with his art supplies, but as parents, our guidance for our little ones is what helps them learn new skills. Colouring within the lines helps improve the fine motor skills of your child. This activity requires eye-hand coordination and significant hand strength to color in a regulated way. Besides, learning to color within the lines also helps enhance the writing skills of your little learner since writing too is confined to a limited space. If you're worried about how to teach your kid to colour within the lines, we've got you covered.
Read on for a Few Smart Ideas to Help You Out!
1. Teach Your Kid The Right Way To Hold and Move Brushes
Provide your little painter with big and small brushes and food colors and invite him to explore color blobs that he can create on a clear sheet of paper. Teach your kid to hold small sized brushes near the tip and large-sized brushes away from the tip so that he can move them conveniently in a controlled manner. Colouring with big brushes teaches him the right way to hold larger colouring tools and move them effectively to colour within the marked space.
2. Develop Their Hand Strength and Coordination
Colouring within the lines is possible only when your child has substantial hand strength and improved eye-hand coordination. So, you need to build your little painter’s hand strength by engaging him in hand strengthening activities, such as grasping and moving small items and pinching soft objects like pillows. Also, making your growing kid squeeze a spray bottle helps improve his hand strength substantially. Provide your kids big tweezers and tell him to pick up various objects using it. This helps improve hand strength and hand-eye coordination substantially.
3. Provide Images With Big Borders
In the initial stages of painting and colouring, encourage your child to colour images having big borders as it helps your child learn to colour more easily. As your child’s coloring skills improve, gradually encourage him to move on to colour within thinner borders.
4. Offer Them a Variety Of Colouring Tools
Introduce your kids to a vast variety of crayons of different sizes ranging from thin, skinny-sized ones to thick, large-sized crayons. Let your child choose which size of crayon he finds easy to hold and colour with in a controlled manner. Also, you can provide several colour markers - each of different size - and let your kid choose his most preferred one. Letting your kid choose a colouring tool that he can manage the best promotes the skill of colouring within the lines.
5. Encourage Them To Colour Often
Provide your child simple pictures and guide them to colour them within the lines. Initially, hold your kid’s hand and teach him how to colour within the marked lines without letting the colour spread outside the lines. Encourage your kid to draw different sized pictures and colour them within the lines more often. Practice helps hone your child’s colouring skills and lets him develop better control over his painting abilities.
6. Reward With Colouring Books
As your child practices colouring within the lines, boost his morale by gifting him colouring books and colouring sheets comprising pictures with intricate details. Appreciating his efforts by rewarding him with colouring books will motivate him to colour more images and more skillfully too, i.e., within the lines. Read more

Action Words To Teach Your Toddler
Before learning to converse, there's a whole list of action words to teach your 19-month-old toddler. Easy to learn and fun to teach, it's important for him to combine all of them to expand his vocabulary and know how to form phrases.
A toddler’s introduction to language begins by learning a few basic words and then expanding his vocabulary to form phrases and gradually conversing. The learning starts with basic sounds and words and moves on to names of people, places, and things. To make toddlers eager to learn a language, parents need to create enthusiasm. One of the best ways to do this is to teach action words. Toddlers find it easier to learn if they associate an action with a word.
How to Teach Action Words to Toddlers in a Few Simple Ways
Firm Introduction
Children must be introduced to the word action first. This can be done by showing them how an action is performed, i.e. by doing something. These actions could be simple things like eating, coloring, playing and sitting. Note some easy action words for kids and encourage your child to do them by performing them along with him.
Introduce Groups
It’s a good idea to introduce action words in groups. Compile action words in a group of words and read them aloud. Then, while calling out an item from the list of action words for toddlers, add a few non-action words and see if he can spot them.
Draw The Action
Learning a word becomes easier if you ask your child to draw a picture of that particular action word. It will also help in the development of motor skills aside from your toddler’s vocabulary list. This can also be played as a fun game where other kids have to guess what the action is.
Sing with Rhymes
A simple way to teach action words is by reciting rhymes that focus on actions. It makes them much easier to remember too. Some popular rhymes are:
Row your boat
Incy wincy spider
One, two, buckle my shoe
Rub-a-dub-dub
Teddy bear, teddy bear
Hop a little
Word Association
Another method of teaching your toddler action words as well as helping him remember different body parts is to associate the two things together. You can tell them the action that each body part does, for example, the eyes wink and blink, and the legs walk and run.
Keep Reminding
Make a board of all the action words for toddlers that you want your child to learn. Cut out pictures from magazines and discarded books, and put words beside each one for easy teaching.
Common Action Words
Here’s a list of the most common action words that can be used for teaching your toddler:
Jump, crawl, eat, drink, go, stop, run, walk, sleep, wash, kiss, open, close, push, pull, play, hug, tickle, dance, shake, sit, stand, throw, catch, and come.
Teaching and learning become easier if taught in a fun and playful way. The same should also be done with action words. Read more

Sometimes no expectation brings positive and beautiful results for the task
Complications are part of Pregnancy some may face only few but some have to fight every day. Lucky are those who give birth without any complications.
So my struggle started in December 2014 when I lost my first child during 7th month of pregnancy due to some complications. My blood pressure was high due to which I was hospitalalized and got discharge after 10 days n then after a week I went for a check up and got to know heart beat is missing. Same story was repeated in 2017 with more complications, more no of days hospitalalization, everything seems to be normal till one scan showed blood is not passing from my atries to babies heart and I had to go through the traumatic situation loosing another child. All I heard since 2014 was all issues were pregnancy induced otherwise I was fit and fine which was more irritating how can u treat the wound if its not visible.
I didn't stop I tried again in 2019 I was been told on the very 1st day that I will have to face all the issues again becoz my pregnancy was high risk due to previous history. I have faced more complications even at worse I had to be in hospital for 2 months. Even doctors said they tried everything which is medically possible only thing left is I have to pass no of days to bring healthy child in this world. I was not allowed to get down from bed during 2 months of hospitalization that was as good as be in jail. Even my doctor use to count no of days. I had only one thing in my mind since day one that I will not give up till the end. All of sudden pain started and next day morning I had my little girl in hand. 2019 was very crucial but blissful. Never loose hopes and be strong to handle everything that comes on your way. Read more

Playing Hide and Seek Games With Babies
Children across ages and all around the world do not seem to tire themselves of playing peekaboo, jack in the box or hide and seek. Besides all those giggles and guffaws this everyday game has a number of physical and mental benefits – even for your little baby!
Playing hide and seek encourages babies to search for hidden objects or people and ultimately the concept of hunter or hunted without being hurt. This traditional game hasn’t lost any of its fun and popularity over the years across countries and generations!
Do not write off this simple diversion game as some nonsensical time pass. The benefits attached to it makes it really worthwhile to invest some precious play time every day in playing hide and seek.
What Hide and Seek Teaches Your Baby
1. Object Permanence
Your baby learns that his disappeared favourite toys or his dearest mother aren’t gone forever. They’ll return miraculously as they still exist even though he can’t see them. These are some early learnings on abstract thinking and memory.
2. Problem Solving Skills
In the process of searching, your baby develops his imagination which in turn tunes his problem solving capacity. He tries to figure out possible ways to hide or find out the hidden.
3. Social Skills
This is a good opportunity to interact and bond with your parents or other playmates which later helps in socialising and working in teams.
4. Physical Health Benefits
Even for very small babies, trying to find out the vanished mommy or a favourite toy might lead him to stretch or push out a bit which improves muscle tone, stamina and overall coordination.
The only downside of this game can be separation anxiety, especially when your baby misses you or his favourite rattle. The cries of your darling may deter you but over time he’ll get adjusted.
If you’re wondering how you can play hide and seek with your baby while he is so little, fret not! Your baby will not be able to actually hide or find you but he can very well understand the proceedings. So, scoot under the blanket and out again or hide behind the curtains and emerge to see the big smile on your little wonder’s face! Read more
