For Indians, saree is not just a six-yard long piece of cloth; it’s a part of thousands of years of tradition that has not lost its sheen! Thanks to Bollywood, the saree is now being appreciated all around the world. Be it for religious ceremonies, parties, casual get-togethers or the office, it goes well with almost any occasion. Even if you don't want to spend too much money on different sarees, you can still look ravishing and different each time. All you need to learn is how to drape a saree with different pallu styles!
We bring you some of the most popular saree pallu draping styles that Bollywood has also adopted. Try one of these the next time you have an event to go to. We promise you will not be disappointed.
How to Wear Saree Pallus in Different Styles and Rock Them!
1. Butterfly Style Pallu
Among all the different ways to wear a saree pallu this style is Bollywood's current favourite, though the drape has been in vogue for quite some time. Make small pallu pleats so that your navel is visible after you pin the pallu to your shoulder. Pull in a little snugly so that it creates a clean line. This drape goes perfectly with lightweight sarees like nets and chiffons and looks very elegant. Make sure you pair it with a heavily sequinned or embroidered blouse.

2. Double Drape
If you love the Mumtaz saree drape but are not sure about being able to carry it off gracefully, this different style of wearing a saree pallu will give you a similar look. After wrapping the saree around your waist, leave a little more fabric than usual for the pallu. Drape three-fourths of it around your waist again then take it under your right arm and then let it hang on your left shoulder.

3. Lehenga Style Saree
If you want to wear a lehenga style saree without spending on an actual one, this trick on how to make the pallu of the saree look like a dupatta will lend a lehenga-like touch. As you begin wrapping your saree into your petticoat, make very small pleats around the front of the waist and then bring the pallu over your right shoulder from behind. Pin it in place and let the end cascade, or take one edge and pin it around to the back of your waist.

4. Open Pallu Style
This is yet another spectacular pallu style that you can pull off for special occasions. Do remember that it is slightly high maintenance! Drape the saree like you usually do but do not make any pleats for the pallu. Just wrap it around your torso and pin the top right edge at your left shoulder.

5. Bengali Pallu Style
Bengali culture and dressing has often been portrayed in popular cinema, thus making the Bengali style of wearing a saree very popular. To wear a saree in the Bengali style, tuck the saree from the right of the waist until it completes one full round. Make saree pallu pleats and place it on your left shoulder. You could tie a trinket or a large key ring to hold down the pallu. This look goes best with cotton sarees. 6. Marathi Pallu Style
Of the different styles of saree pallu, this one is a very unusual but very attractive draping style you have to try at least once. Wear tight slacks instead of a petticoat and drape your saree in dhoti style. Ensure that the border is seen in the front. This look goes with longer sarees and is best paired with a nose ring and a gajra in your hair!
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="344"] Source: Pinterest[/caption]
7. Madisaru Pallu Style
Traditionally worn by the women of the Tamil Brahmin community, this style follows the style of draping the upper half in sari pleats and the lower half like a dhoti. It is worn usually for special occassions and is a gorgeous sight to behold with traditional jewellery. With this style too, you can skip the petticoat and just go for 3/4th tights.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="344"] Source: Pinterest[/caption]
8. Gujarati Pallu Style
A common sight now, the Gujarati pallu or 'Seedha pallu' style shows off gorgeously worked pallus by having them placed right in the front and across your body. Drape the pleats as you normally would and bring them over your right shoulder, and spread it out from right to left. Secure it in place with pins. It's best to choose a sari with a lot of embroidery or design on the pallu, to really make the best of this drape.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="344"] Source: Pinterest[/caption]
9. Square Pallu Style
With the square drape, the pallu needs to be taken from the underarm of the right side and carried across the chest to the left side of the blouse where it is pinned in place and the remaining pleats are made. This drape is a good option to show off your neckline or highlight a really good neckpiece.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="344"] Source: Pinterest[/caption]
10. Scarf Pallu Style
This may sound super simple but is a fun twist to the regular way of wearing a sari. As the name suggests, it involves tying the pallu around the neck, just like a scarf. Wear a quirky blouse to really amp up the look.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="344"] Source: Pinterest[/caption]
The pallu is one of the most important parts of a saree. It’s what can change your entire look. However, to complete the look, you must also pick a blouse design that complements your saree draping style. Learning to drape a saree to perfection is an art and takes practice. Start slow and simple and gradually work your way toward more complicated drapes. You’ll certainly be the centre of attraction wherever you go!

10 Reasons Amarendra Bahubali Is a DREAM Husband Even For a 21st Century Woman!
On April 28, 2017, people rushed to the theatres to find out why Kattappa killed Bahubali after all. But we are sure more women than ever before walked out of the theatre and completely forgot about everything else... except how awesome Amarendra Bahubali is. That smile. Those eyes. That body! But there are more than those very obvious reasons why Amarendra Bahubali is the perfect husband, even for the modern Indian woman.
10 Reasons We Need More 'Amarendra Bahubalis’ in The 21st Century Than Ever Before
1. Amarendra Bahubali is chivalrous and romantic.
Amarendra Bahubali could have very easily told Devasena who he was and (as quite aptly put by Kattappa), the King and Queen of Kuntala kingdom would have 'washed his feet and married their daughter off to him. But he chose to win the princess over through his actions and deeds. His conduct was respectful, a tad bit naughty, and absolutely romantic and chivalrous.
However, in being so, he did not at any point snub Devasena away. He didn't 'protect' her, he joined her in the battle against the Pindaris. That's what the new-age 21st century woman wants, isn't it? A man who will respect and join her in her endeavours, without making her feel weak or ill-equipped to achieve whatever she wants to.
2. Amarendra Bahubali is principled.
Amarendra Bahubali, when the time came, did not flinch while going against his mother, the great Rajmata Sivagami. Amarendra was convinced that his mother had made a mistake in promising Bhallaldeva that he would be married to Devasena, and he did not falter in pointing it out to her. Not only that, he did so respectfully, and while maintaining the decorum of the relationship.
His principles cost him his mother, his kingship, his family... and yet he didn't bat an eyelash in standing by what was right. God knows we need more men like Amarendra Bahubali – who have the courage to stand by what's right, and who are not such “Mumma's boy”s.
3. Amarendra Bahubali is hot.
Let’s be honest! We all secretly drooled at him, didn't we? There is something very earthy about his sexiness.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Source: GIPHY[/caption]
When he fought valiantly in the war against the Kalakeyas, when he pulled the bow and shot the arrow right into the demon effigy, when he came to Devasena's aid during the Pindari-attack and taught her how to shoot three arrows in one go, when he held the boat and placed his arm out for Devasena to walk over his shoulder and into the boat... we saw... and we lost our hearts.
Who wouldn't want to get with that man?!
4. Amarendra Bahubali is virtuous.
Amerandra is an exemplary example of the best of a man: brave, honest, humble, and a true ruler. He cared about his people beyond the role of a king. He fought with honour, without compromising the lives of civilians. In spite of being declared the would-be-king, he did not throw around attitude. He always treated Bhallaldeva with respect. His doting love for his mother must have pulled at every woman's heartstrings.
Not only that, he did not ridicule Kumar Verma for not being able to 'be a man', nor did he use this fact to his advantage to win over Devasena. Instead, he empowered Kumar Verma, and befriended him. He knew the right things to say to his people during the war to give them the strength and courage to face the adversity that lay in front of them. And as his father Bijjaladeva points out – Bahubali kapat nahi jaanta (Bahubali has no concept of deceit).
Who wouldn't want such a strong and virtuous man as her life-partner?
5. Amarendra Bahubali knows how to keep a promise.
When he swore to Devasena 'I am yours', he did so with conviction. And he kept his word. Even when it meant losing everything and everyone that were dear to him. He also stood by his word of coming to the aid of the kingdom, should such an occasion or need arise. Even when he was banished from the family, he did not let that affect his loyalty to his people and his kingdom.
However, what's more important is – he knew which promises to break too. While he had promised his mother his unflinching and unconditional love, it didn't blind him to her faults or prevent him from doing the right thing.
6. Amarendra Bahubali is not insecure.
Not only did he befriend Kumar Verma, the guy who had a massive crush on the love of his life and wanted to marry her, he also gave him a place in his heart, his life, and his family. He did not once ever doubt Devasena over her integrity. He did not even once try and create a rift or distance between Devasena and Kumar Verma.
In fact, Amarendra had such unflinching trust and faith in Devasena, that he never doubted her about anything. He did not expect obeisance from her – neither towards himself nor his mother. He gave her room to be her unapologetic self, and did not even once try to 'mold' her into a submissive wife. He knows he loves her, and he knows she loves him. He did not let anything ever make him feel insecure – neither Devasena's archery skills, nor her confidence, nor the guys who were crushing on her hard!
7. Amarendra Bahubali respects women.
When he requested Devasena to return to Mahishmati with him as his captive and she refused, he did not try to convince her to do it. No ma'am! Amarendra honoured her feelings, and instead promised to guard her honour and dignity till death do them part.
Not only that, Amarendra also has tremendous respect for his wife's family. Remember what he said when Devasena's brother and his wife bowed to Amarendra out of respect and reverence? “Sambandhi ek dusre ke gale lagte hai, unke aage jhukte nahi hai Maharaj.” (Relatives embrace one another, they do not bow in front of each other, Sir.) What more could a girl want?
8. Amarendra Bahubali does not let any man disrespect his woman.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="480"] Source: GIPHY[/caption]
Remember what Amarendra said when he stood up by Devasena's side in the middle of the court, in the presence of his elder brother the King, and his mother Rajmata Sivagami?
“Devasena ko kisi ne haath lagaya to samjho, Bahubali ki talvaar ko haath lagaya.” (Anyone who touches Devasena must know he is incurring the wrath of Bahubali's sword.)
“Aurat par haath daalne vale ki ungliyan nahi kaat-tey, kaat-tey hai uska gala!” (You do not chop off the fingers of a man who molests women, you behead him!)
Of course every 21st century woman needs a man like Amarendra Bahubali.
9. Amarendra Bahubali understands 'consent'.
This is a very important point.
Remember the song love song when Devasena, Amarendra Bahubali, Kattappa, all board that insanely beautiful ship and set sail for Mahishmati? Amarendra knows he's won Devasena over. Devasena is more than willing to consummate their marriage.
And yet – Amarendra Bahubali, being the true blue gentleman that he is, waits for Devasena to make the first move.
Yes, ladies.
Consent is important, even in a marriage. And Amarendra Bahubali understands this. This single quality in itself certifies him as the most eligible husband of the 21st century.
10. Amarendra Bahubali is perfect.
Isn't he?
We strongly recommend this movie to be used as training material to induct every man into the role of a 'husband'. What do you think?

Facts and Information About Kangaroos for Kids
Kids love animals and birds. Whenever they come across new animals (yes, the ones they have never seen before), they are curious to learn about them. Kangaroos are interesting animals; their appearance and the way they hop around make them quite unique. If you want to teach your kids about kangaroos, read this article.
Interesting Facts About Kangaroos for Your Children
Here is a list of fun facts about kangaroos for kids:
Kangaroos are basically mammals that belong to the family Macropodidae. Other animals in the same family include wallaroos, wallabies, tree kangaroos, pademelons and forest wallabies. They also belong to the category of animals called marsupials; the animals that carry their offspring in a pouch.
Kangaroos are not found anywhere else in the world except Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. Some were introduced to other places such as New Zealand and Hawaii by humans. Australia has the world’s largest population of kangaroos and the number is increasing every year.
Different species of kangaroo prefer different types of habitat. They are mostly found in the woodlands, savannah deserts, grassy plains, rocky ledges, and cliffs.
Kangaroos can move around quickly by hopping. They have well developed and powerful hind legs that help them hop around. They use their large muscular tails to manoeuvre while moving and also to maintain balance. While it’s common to see their hind limbs move simultaneously for hopping, they can kick them independently to swim.
Although hopping doesn’t sound too fast a way to move, kangaroos can hop as fast as 48 km/h. They can also jump surprisingly high and cover a lot of ground in one hop. Red kangaroos can cover up to 8m in one leap and jump as high as 3m.
Kangaroos have developed eyes that can see objects that move; their eyesight is good only to track moving objects. They also have a sharp sense of hearing and can swivel their external ears to pick up sounds from all directions.
Kangaroos are herbivores; they graze grass most of the time as well as the leaves of selected desert plants, flowers, ferns moss etc. They can also survive without drinking water for a long period of time. Sometimes even months.
Kangaroos are primarily nocturnal; they spend the night grazing and moving from place to place. They rest in the shade during the day when it gets really hot.
Kangaroos are not solitary; they are social. They normally live in ‘mobs’ of two or three individuals. Sometimes the population in a mob can go up to 100.
A male kangaroo is known as a boomer, buck, old man or jack. A female kangaroo is referred to as jill, doe, or flyer. A baby kangaroo is known as a joey.
The females normally give birth to one baby (joey) every year. The joey develops inside the pouch for nine months, and they suckle from the outside till they are 12 to 17 months of age. Newborn joeys are tiny little pink blobs.
Females can nurture up to 3 joeys at a time.
The gestation period of kangaroos on an average is 30 days. In comparison, humans have a gestation period of 9 months. Kangaroos also have a remarkable ability to control the start of their gestation period if they already have a joey in the pouch.
Male kangaroos fight for females in a kick-boxing fashion using their muscular front limbs and powerful hind legs. A male kangaroo can kick and punch to defeat the other male. Although the front limbs can’t cause serious injury, the hind legs can give dangerous blows with the sharp toenails.
Male Kangaroos have muscular bodies and well-developed limb muscles that they display as a courtship gesture. They also flex their muscles to intimidate rival males.
Kangaroos can grow to enormous sizes. The Red Kangaroo species can grow over 2 meters tall (6 feet) and weigh over 90 kilos. Different species differ in height, and the males are always taller than the females.
The male red kangaroos are normally 1.4m tall and the female red kangaroos are 1.1m tall. The weight of males is between 40 kgs and 90 kgs. The females weigh between 18 kgs and 40 kgs.
For animals so big, kangaroos have a relatively short life span. Most species can live for an average of 6 years in the wild and around 20 years in captivity. Red Kangaroos can have a lifespan of 16 years in the wild and live up to 22 years in captivity.
The population of kangaroos has increased steadily over the last decade. It was 27 million in 2010 and 42 million in 2016.
There are four species of kangaroos: the red kangaroo, the antilopine kangaroo, the eastern grey kangaroo and the western grey kangaroo.
Kangaroos have few natural predators. The young ones often fall prey to dingos, fox, or eagles. However, humans kill more kangaroos for meat.
Kangaroos can be kept as pet animals in Australia and America. They can, however, be dangerous when they feel threatened and may attack viciously to defend themselves.
Kangaroos are also good swimmers; they are known to swim in waters 20ft deep. They paddle themselves by kicking each hind limb independently.
Kangaroos are fascinating creatures in the way they move, their physical build, and how they stand on two legs similar to humans and put up a fight! They are also social and caring animals who prefer living in groups.
